Genevieve Parmentier appointed Private Lecturer (Priv. Doz.)

Priv. Doz. Dr. Genevieve Parmentier, now new "privat lecturer" ("Privat Dozent") at ARI.

Dr. Genevieve Parmentier was appointed Private Lecturer (Priv. Doz.) yesterday by the Habilitation Conference of the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Heidelberg University. Private Lecturers are independent university lecturers and responsible for academic teaching and the supervision of doctoral students.
In her research, Priv. Doz. Dr. Genevieve Parmentier aims at constraining the formation conditions of star clusters, and the imprints they leave on the properties of star cluster systems. The topics she covers range from the initial cluster mass function to the mass-radius relation of cluster progenitors, and from the formation of massive stars in clusters to star formation relations of the Galactic disk.
Genevieve Parmentier received her PhD in Astronomy in 2002 at the University of Liege, Belgium. After holding positions in Basel (Astronomical Institute), Cambridge (IoA), Liege (IAGL) and Bonn (AIfA and MPIfR), she started in 2012 as an Olympia-Morata Fellow at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut (ARI) at the Zentrum für Astronomie der Universität Heidelberg (ZAH).

We congratulate Dr. Parmentier on this achievement and wish her all the best for her future as scientist and lecturer.
