The Ernst Patzer Foundation is awarding up to three prizes each year for the best refereed publications by PhD students and young postdocs at the MPIA and the ZAH.
In 2017, two ZAH students will receive this award:
- Marta Reina-Campos, who works under supervison of Diederik Kruijssen at ARI, will be awarded for her paper on "A unified model for the maximum mass scales of molecular clouds, stellar clusters and high-redshift clumps", 2017, MNRAS, 469, 1282
- Daniel Rahner works under supervison of Ralf Klessen at ITA. He will receive the Patzer award for his publication on "Winds and radiation in unison: a new semi-analytic feedback model for cloud dissolution", 2017, MNRAS, 470, 445
The award winners will be honored during the Patzer Colloquium and the following Patzer Reception on December 8th, 2017, at 15:00 in the lecture hall of the MPIA. The award winners will give a short presentation of their work.
Background information
The Scientific Ernst Patzer Foundation was established in 2001 by the widow of the Philosopher Ernst Patzer. The goal of the foundation is to support young scientists in the field of astronomy, in particular at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg and ZAH.
