Dr. Anna Pasquali was appointed Private Lecturer (Priv. Doz.) yesterday by the Habilitation Conference of the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Heidelberg University. Private Lecturers are independent university lecturers and solely responsible for academic teaching and the supervision of doctoral student.
The topic of Priv. Doz. Dr. Anna Pasquali's research is the observational study of stellar populations, ranging from resolved young stellar clusters in the Milky Way and Magellanic Clouds to unresolved star clusters in external galaxies and galaxy integrated stellar populations to constrain the star formation activity, the star formation history and the Initial Mass Function of galaxies, as well as their evolution in different environments.
She had received her PhD in Astronomy in 1995 at the University of Florence University, Italy. After holding positions in Baltimore (STScI), Garching (ESO/ST-ECF), Zürich (ETH) and Heidelberg (MPIA) she started in 2010 as Staff Researcher of the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut (ARI) at the Zentrum für Astronomie der Universität Heidelberg (ZAH).
We congratulate Dr. Pasquali on this achievement and wish her all the best for her future as scientist and lecturer.
